great collection Vern!
I actually chose to stay with videos when laserdiscs came out because of the expense involved of changing over (smart move I guess in retrospect) 🙂
I have always been a fan of “letterbox” editions of videos and hated the pan and scan videos. (despite the black blocks on top and bottom of the screen)
One of my favorite extras on a DVD set was on the Die Hard trilogy dvd’s where they had an amazing featurette explaining the pan and scan vs widescreen.
Enjoy ur hiatus!
Thanks Rob, I have seen a video like that For Terminator 2 , but in that one the way it was cropped it didn’t loose much of the picture. On The Waterfront Criterion has 3 different aspect ratios of the movie too
Cool! Sounds quite interesting!
Nice Vid and great tribute. You’re a true film fan and your passion shows. Keep up the love and enjoy your break. All the best from TMI.
Congrats on your milestone! Wow, nice collection man. I actually still have a few VHS though I don’t have the player anymore, ahah. But I actually never bought a laser disc!
Thank you very much Ruth. I still have a VHS player. I find some good deals on movies I havent seen before
