The Vern waits for The Great Pumpkin and writes a Halloween post.

Happy Halloween Everybody.

Kims Halloween(My uber talented friend Kim made these)

It’s Friday, October Thirty First and if you re reading this right now.  You are either at work just wasting time until the day is done.  You could also be at home waiting for your friends to take you to a really cool Halloween party.   Or the kids could be out trick or treating and you’re just waiting for them to get back so that everyone can sit together and watch a good scary flick.  Whatever you do to celebrate this day, go for it.   Like Humpty Hump from Digital Underground once said.

dowhatOver at The Cinematic Katzenjammer I wrote a list on 6 of my favorite horror movies.  That was not easy to do, and I know I left a lot out  on my honorable mentions.   But I still think I picked some good ones.  Check out my list below and let me know of any titles I should have chosen.

Pick 6: Vern’s Favorite Horror Films

Vern's horrorI also helped contribute to that site’s Profile in Horror posts.  For this one a different staff member each wrote their own thoughts about a different horror character.  We have such icon greats as Pinhead and Chucky.  To some lesser known characters as May Canady and that one girl from “Audition“.

On The LAMBcast, Jay asked me if I would be the host to talk about the entire Halloween franchise for it’s 242nd episode.  I asked does it pay anything, and Jay said
No, you stupid idiot.  Now do the damn show before I turn you into a newt.”  Ok, he never did actually use those words and why I decided to go with such a creature like a newt.  I’ll never know.   However I took over the reigns and was joined by my co host Will of Exploding Helicopters(my apologies for taking over most of  the episode even though I asked you to take over), Elwood Jones of From the Depths of DVD Hell and newcomer  Eric of The Movie Waffler(whose site’s name is not a reference to a breakfast food as I once thought).  Be sure to check out each of these guys sites because they are really good.  I apologize for sounding like I’m fading in and out during the show, but it’s still a good episode regardless of the technical problems.

About The Vern

I love movies and I enjoy writing about them too. They both go pretty much hand in hand with each other and it's fun to discover new classics. I co host the podcasts The Film Pasture, ScreenTrax, and soon Cinema Recall. While also contributing reviews and articles to other great sites when I can.

Happy belated Halloween! I had never heard that Marilyn Manson song. Makes sense since I don’t listen to him. I’ll go and read your top 6 horror movies list
