The As You Watch Podcast: Best Movie Spoof AKA Tribute to Mel Brooks.

Hello folks.

Mel BrooksI’m a bit sad, but we have reached the end of our second season over at The As You Watch Podcast.  The debates we have had were a lot of fun, but now we want to take the show in a whole fun new direction.  Keep an eye on the site, because there will be more character bouts that I will be posting on there each week.  This episode was still a lot of fun as I played host and had Joe and Nick debate on what was not only the best movie spoof , but the  best Mel Brooks’ one too.   Joe has chosen “Spaceballs” and Nick has chosen “Young Frankenstein“.  Also If anyone can guess the name of the movie from the end song that is played  will win a free DVD.  Not telling you what it is, but hey it’s free.(If you live outside the US. There may  be shipping charges)

My pick personally is Young Frankenstein, and that is probably my favorite Mel Brooks movie in general. I feel like Brooks’ movies tended to be hits or misses, and Young Frankenstein was definitely a hit, as opposed to Robin Hood: Men in Tights.

Young Frankenstein has gone from being just a spoof to becoming a classic in it’s own right. Still I find myself re watching Spaceballs more often then that one. Thanks for visiting.
